We’re publishing a book!

Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir are publishing a book entitled ‘Into the City, Onto the Stage: Unlikely Collaborations with the City’ through Advanced Performing Art Platform and Bruno publishing.

The book is conceived of as an on-going series of conversations with artists, artist groups and curators working with performance-related practices where significant collaboration with locality and those dwelling there operates as a central component of the work.

This first book will consist of ten chapters, each bringing critical attention to different artists, artist groups and curators.

A New work for Reykjavík Arts Festival!

Specially commissioned by the Reykjavík Arts Festival, Alexander Roberts, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Wiola Ujazdowska will make a new work exploring what it means to be a family entitled Big Bash.

Big Bash is a twelve hour party event that explores what it means to be a family.

There will be families of all kinds – couples and their children, couples with no children, single parents, a thruple, flatmates, someone that lives alone with their pet, and more – all taking slots deejaying their music, telling their stories and making the party happen.

It’s going to be a huge party. Everyone’s invited to join anytime of the day or night, to participate or just sit, listen and enjoy. There will be music, dancing, food, families and confetti.

The event starts at twelve in the afternoon and runs until twelve at night – with an after party running from twelve till two in the morning.

The work is specially commissioned by the Reykjavík Arts Festival and places special focus on the inclusion of Polish families in Iceland.

Big Bash is artistically led by Wiola Ujazdowska, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Alexander Roberts.
