Curated by Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir, in collaboration with Bjarni Jónsson and Ragnheiður Skúladóttir, Reykjavík Dance Festival partnered with LÓKAL International Theatre Festival to bring together a programme of artists from Iceland and abroad that each in their own terms are challenging and stretching the dominant modes of the performing arts.

The programme provides a platform for artists to develop work in significant conversation with the city and those dwelling in it. Significant exchanges that localise the global through the ways the work is situated and presented, developed and reflected upon in the city.

Events took place at Tjarnarbío, Mengi, the Reykjavík Dance Atelier, the National Broadcasting House, Gamla Bío, the Reykjavík City Theatre, the National Theatre of Iceland, the Reykjavík Art Museum, and the Iceland University of the Arts.

The events were supported by Reykjavík City, the Nordisk Kulturfond, Goethe Institute, the Japan Foundation, Kulturkontakt Nord and the Iceland Ministry of Culture and Education.

Reykjavík Dance Festival was nominated for the DV Culture Award for its activities in 2015.
